Modern Foreign Languages

At Temple Ewell we aim to provide a language curriculum which fosters pupils’ curiosity and deepens their understanding of the world and other cultures. We provide our pupils with opportunities to express their ideas and thoughts in another language and to understand and respond to its speakers, both in speech and in writing. We are committed to developing the children’s natural curiosity and enthusiasm to learn more about the world in which we live by primarily teaching them French and about French culture throughout Key Stage 2.

“I like learning French because it's exciting to learn a different language.” Benny

“I like French because you get to learn a new language and when you go to France you'll know what they're talking about!” Millie

“I like learning French because we get to learn new words, and then we can use them to speak in France to order things.” Helena

“It’s good because you get to explore a different language and country.” Leo
